Event Details

Bil Lepp is a nationally renowned storyteller and five time champion of the West Virginia Liars' Contest. His outrageous, humorous tall-tales and witty stories have earned the appreciation of listeners of all ages. The CD, The Teacher in the Patriotic Bathing Suit received the Parent's Choice Approved Award. Lepp has been featured at the National Storytelling Festival, the Smithsonian Folklife Festival and our own Hoosier Storytelling Festival. He lives in Charleston, WV with his wife and two children. Storytelling Arts of Indiana



Storytelling Arts of Indiana was originally founded as Stories, Inc. in 1987. Since then, it has grown by leaps and bounds, but our mission remains the same: to promote the art and use of storytelling in everyday life. From local favorites to nationally-recognized names, Storytelling Arts has brought tellers from all walks of life to Hoosier audiences for over two decades. In addition to the full schedule of storytelling concerts, Storytelling Arts of Indiana also provides:

 

  • Weekly storytelling at Riley Children’s Hospital
  • Monthly as I Recall Storytelling Guild meetings at the Glendale Branch Library, Indianapolis Senior Center and the Hancock County Public Library.
  • Monthly Jabberwocky after-work events in collaboration with IndyFringe
  • Summer Performances in the Neighborhood Parks for children
  • A workshop for teachers, Using Storytelling as an Educational Tool: Teaching English/Language State standards through Storytelling Activities
